Why I love photography
I love photography because it freezes a moment in time. It allows people to hold on to memories they can cherish forever. I photograph families, couples, and occasionally sports and events, and I’m currently expanding into real estate photography.
When it comes to couples, I especially enjoy capturing meaningful milestones like prom, engagements, or simply the special moments shared between you and your partner. Each area of photography I work in holds meaning and emotion. For example, I love taking family and couple photos because time flies so quickly. One moment you’re holding your baby, and in the blink of an eye, they’re graduating elementary school, and before you know it, they’re walking across the stage at their high school graduation. Or you’re just starting a new relationship, and before you know it, you and your partner are celebrating 5 years together.
With sports and event photography, I love capturing moments like your child’s hockey, dance, baseball or soccer games, because while those seasons may not last forever, the memories can. One day your child might be too busy for sports or move on to new interests, but those captured memories will always be there to look back on.
Even for events like birthdays, company parties, or celebrations, those are moments worth remembering.
This is why I love photography: because it preserves a feeling, a connection, a moment in time. I love taking photos that people can revisit and feel something from, whether it’s a laugh, a smile, or even a tear. I treasure looking back at photos of myself when I was younger, and of me with my whole family as we all grew up together. My hope is to give that same gift to others through the photos I take.
I'm also excited to get into real estate photography, not just to photograph houses, but to capture the spaces where memories are made. A home is more than walls and windows. Families build their lives there, no matter how long or short their time in it. And when they move on, a new family begins their own story in that space. That transition, the passing of memories from one family to the next, is something truly meaningful to capture.
Each area of photography I explore is about one thing: capturing meaningful moments. And that’s what I love most.
